UNIST 학생 여러분,

여러분 모두 최근 소식을 접해 알고 있겠지만 오미크론 변이 바이러스가 전국적으로 빠른 속도로 확산되는 추세입니다.
학내에서도 요즘 확진자가 다수 발생하고 있습니다. 공동체의 안전을 위해 특별한 경각심이 필요한 때입니다.

2022학년도 1학기 대면 수업 방침에 대해 지난 달에 안내드린 바와 같이 교육 정상화를 목표로 교직원들이 함께 힘을 합쳐 1학기를 준비해왔습니다.
그러나 변이 바이러스가 빠르게 확산되는 현 상황에서 구성원들의 안전과 예측 가능한 학사 운영 등 여러 요소를 종합적으로 고려하여
모든 학사과정 수업을 3월 한 달간 ‘전면 비대면 수업’으로 변경하기로 결정했습니다.
대학원과정 수업은 교과목 담당 교원이 자율적으로 대면/비대면 방식을 결정할 것입니다.
4월 이후 수업에 관해서는 추후 공지하겠습니다.

이에 따라 생활관 운영도 변경이 불가피합니다.
이미 완료된 1학기 입사 신청은 그대로 유지되지만 생활관 입사는 원칙적으로 대면수업으로 전환될 때 가능합니다.
구체적으로 학부생의 경우, 특별한 사유가 없다면 대면수업이 실시될 때까지 입사를 연기하고자 합니다.
대학원생의 경우는 연구원으로서 연구를 수행하기 위해 연구실 생활이 필수이기 때문에 입사를 허용할 예정입니다.

앞으로 코로나 상황이 어떻게 전개될지 예측하기 어렵지만 항상 최선책을 찾기 위해 노력하겠습니다.
여러분도 개인위생에 유의하시고 방역 조치를 준수해 주시길 당부합니다.

Dear Students,

As you all know through recent news, the Omicron mutation virus is spreading rapidly nationwide.
There are also many confirmed cases on campus. It’s time for a special alert for the safety of the community.

As informed last month about in-person class policy in spring 2022, all faculty members have worked hard together to prepare new semester with the aim of education normalization.
However, in the current situation where the virus is spreading rapidly, UNIST has inevitably decided to change all Undergraduate courses to ‘Online class’ during march,
considering various factors such as safety and predictable academic management.
For Graduate courses, instructors will decide whether to offer classes online or offline.
Further plans after march will be announced afterwards.

As a result, it is also inevitable to change dormitory operation policy.
Applications result for the spring semester will remain the same, but in principle entrance to the dormitory will be permitted when class format changes to in-person classes.
Specifically, for undergraduate students, the entrance for the dormitory will be postponed unless there are special reasons.
Graduate students will be allowed to enter the dormitory to help students conduct research on campus.

It is difficult to predict how the COVID-19 situation will develop in the future, but UNIST will always try best to find the best way.
We ask you to pay attention to personal hygiene and follow quarantine measures.
